Coteau des Prairies Hospital Expansion Project
Serving South Dakota with Excellence Since 1967
Our Coteau Health Care System has been serving communities in our area
since 1967. At CDP Health Care System, we are passionate about serving
our community with excellence. We exist to serve our community and strive
to be an integral part of it while being excellent stewards of our resources.
Our commitment to our community means growing and expanding to serve you
better, with new and improved facilities.
Our hospital is a 25-bed facility. We are a community not-for-profit hospital
serving about 21,000 individuals in the Glacial Lakes area of Northeast
South Dakota and West Central Minnesota. In addition to our critical access,
acute care medical facility, we also own and operate multiple rural health
clinics: the Browns Valley Clinic in Browns Valley, Minnesota; the Rosholt
Clinic in Rosholt, South Dakota; and the certified rural health clinic
in Sisseton, South Dakota.
In 1967, our hospital was opened. Later, it was expanded in 1996 with a
14,000 square-foot addition and an extensive remodeling project. This
project cost about $2.4 million to complete. We are continuing to grow
and expand to meet the changing needs of our community. Keep reading to

Expanding to Meet the Needs of Our Community
Phase I of our expansion project featured a 22,000 square-foot addition
with multiple new facilities and services. The project took place in early 2013.
This addition includes a new:
- Clinic
- Emergency room
- Laboratory
- Birthing suites
- Radiology department
The goal of this project is to support the increasing number of patient
visits to our Sisseton health care facility. Our board of directors announced
plans for renovation and expansion of the facility to serve future generations
and care for our aging population early in 2013. We are excited to announce
the completion of this project and look forward to serving patients with
these new resources in the future.
