CDP Health Care System Recieves Grant From Susan G. Komen South Dakota

Susan G. Komen South Dakota has awarded a $43,000 grant to the CDP Health Care System to provide to provide breast cancer screening and navigation services as well as to establish a patient and provider reminder system to benefit women living in Roberts County including members of the Sisseton-Wahpeton Oyate Tribe.

CDP Health Care System is grateful to Susan G. Komen South Dakota for this generous gift, said CEO, Michael Coyle. This is an important community benefit to improve breast cancer screening, early detection and follow up care for this region. CDP Health Care System offers high quality digital mammography in comfort of a private suite.

Since inception, Komen SD has significantly impacted all areas of breast cancer. To date, 73 community programs have been funded in South Dakota to provide education, treatment, transportation assistance, survivorship programs and more. In addition, Komen SD has invested in global and cutting edge breast cancer research, including two scientists studying to find better treatments and ultimately the cures right in Sioux Falls. In total, Komen SD has invested over $2.7 million in South Dakota programs and impacted over 43,000 lives.

In addition to the CDP Health Care System, four other programs will be funded by Komen SD this year: Custer Health (Standing Rock Reservation), Gundersen Medical Foundation (Pine Ridge Reservation), Regional Cancer Care Institute (Western SD), and the SD Dept. of Health – All Women Count! (Statewide).
